New breeding values for beef bulls and cows

NAV has now released the first breeding values for purebred beef bulls and cows. Breeding values are calculated jointly for calving, growth, and carcass traits for 5 breeds (Angus, Charolais, Simmental, Hereford, and Limousine). Beef breeding values are estimated 4 times per year (March, April, June, and November).

Information about the new beef breeding values and publication can be found under Beef cattle and Beef publication.
