{"id":4315,"date":"2016-04-29T06:49:28","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T03:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nordicebv.info\/?p=4315"},"modified":"2020-09-04T08:57:18","modified_gmt":"2020-09-04T05:57:18","slug":"nav-genomic-evaluation-service-for-international-holstein-ai-bulls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nordicebv.info\/da\/nav-genomic-evaluation-service-for-international-holstein-ai-bulls\/","title":{"rendered":"NAV Genomic evaluation service for International Holstein AI bulls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By submitting genotype and pedigree data to Nordic Cattle Genetic Evaluation (NAV), owners of Holstein AI bulls can choose to order GEBV for <strong>Interbull traits<\/strong> and\/or GEBV for the unique <strong>Nordic traits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interbull traits<\/strong> include production, fertility, calving, longevity, conformation, milkability, temperament, and udder health &#8211; the same traits are evaluated by the other \u00a0members of the EuroGenomics Cooperative. The breeding values of AI bulls going through this process will be published in five different rankings: Nordic (DFS), Dutch\/Flemish, French, Spanish and Polish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The unique Nordic traits<\/strong> include claw health, young stock survival, growth, saved feed, persistency and general health. GEBV for these traits will only be published on the Nordic scale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submitting data <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Owners of AI bulls older than 10 months can submit bull data to Nordic Cattle Genetic Evaluation (NAV) (see contacts below). They will then receive genomic breeding values for all Interbull traits and NTM (Nordic Total Merit Index) and\/or the unique Nordic traits.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fee for the evaluation of one bull, including listing in<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> official publications for Interbull traits and NTM<\/span>, is \u20ac2000.<\/li>\n<li>The fee for the evaluation of one bull, including listing in<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> official publications for Nordic traits<\/span>, is \u20ac1 per sold dose of semen, with a minimum\u00a0of 2.000 doses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The official DFS genomic breeding values will be published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicebv.info\/genomic-evaluation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>NAV website<\/strong><\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurogenomics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>EuroGenomics website<\/strong><\/a>, will show the genomic breeding values on the five national scales for the Interbull traits mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Owners of Holstein AI bulls can also apply for a simplified genomic evaluation on only the Nordic scale for Interbull traits or the unique Nordic traits. This will result in unofficial (not for publication) genomic breeding values for Nordic traits and\/or Interbull traits and NTM which will be sent to the bull owner by NAV.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fee for the unofficial results is \u20ac150 for Interbull traits and NTM<\/li>\n<li>The fee for the unofficial results is \u20ac150 for the unique Nordic traits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you want to apply for a genomic evaluation you have to sign a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicebv.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/2016-09-14-DFS-contract-with-3rd-parties-version-140916.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contract for Interbull traits<\/a><\/strong> and\/or a <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicebv.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019-12-04-Nordic-traits-DFS-contract-with-3rd-parties-version_.pdf\">contract for the unique Nordic traits<\/a><\/strong> for each bull and the genotype and the pedigree data has to be delivered in the described <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicebv.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Import_SNP_format_NAV.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">format<\/a><\/strong>.
